About us
Our team is small and will stay small. We believe we offer our partners more value for money by working with experts in specific fields as and when required as opposed to carrying a team and trying to cover all facets ourselves.

The permanent members of the SLC team are:

Scottie Chapman

While formally trained in marketing and management, Scotties passion is designing and enthusiastically implementing international sales strategies. Other areas of expertise he has picked up along his 20+ years in the F&B / Agribusiness sectors are corporate strategy, branding and an understanding of the components required to come together to make a business successful. He has worked in leadership roles within both large corporates and as an owner of his own highly successful businesses. Scottie also spent 13 years in Asia working primarily for NZ F&B / Agribusiness companies in the Asian region (and speaks fluent Japanese).

Scottie began his professional career with Zespri International in Japan where he rose to become Deputy General Manager, Asia. He remained in Japan to take on the role as General Manager of Automotive and Technology for Exel Japan. Next came the role of Country Manager, Japan for Heinz Watties. He returned to New Zealand in 2005 to buy his own business and worked on contract as a Strategic Projects Manager for The New Zealand Merino Company while doing due diligence on a number of companies.

In 2006 Scottie, with his business partner, purchased Redwood Cellars and Good Health Organisation based in Nelson. Both of these businesses had been struggling to perform and were facing challenging issues. Along with his business partner they went on to build a very successful business - most publicly with the Old Mout Cider Brand. Both of these businesses were sold in 2012 with Redwood Cellars being purchased by db Breweries (Heineken).
